Description Eremogone congesta var. charlestonensis amongst the quartzite rocks in the mine workings at the end of road 592(?), about 1.5 km NNE of Mount Stirling, Spring Mountains, southern Nevada (elev. about 2100 m); while var. subcongesta is also known from these mountains, var. charlestonensis is suggested by the compactness of the inflorescence and the spinose sepals
