English: Esso terminal at Milton The site is no longer an oil terminal, and the structures that are shown in this photo have been cleared away; however, the site is still closed to the public. See http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/295761/details/bowling+dunglass+basin+oil+tank+farm/ (at Canmore) for further details.
From the wall that is visible in the foreground, I was able to identify this old photo as having been taken from the road at 1792142. The old wall is in the fields just south of those ruins; see 1806025 for a more recent photo, which also shows the cleared area formerly occupied by the terminal. To the right of the terminal, some bollards are visible in the Clyde; at the time of writing, they are still present: 1805668. |
