São Charbel, monge maronita, canonizado pelo Papa Paulo VI no dia 9 de outubro de 1977, nasceu e morreu no Líbano (1828 - 1898). Este monumento é oferecido ao povo brasileiro pela comunidade libanesa do Rio de Janeiro, por iniciativa da Missão Libanesa Maronita, na esperança de que São Charbel realize aqui as curas milagrosas que realizou em outros países. Rio de Janeiro, 16-10-1994.
[Saint Charbel, Maronite monk, canonized by Pope Paul VI on 9 October 1977, born and died in Lebanon (1828 - 1898). This monument is offered to the Brazilian people by the lebanese community of Rio de Janeiro, by initiative of the Maronite Lebanese Mission, in the hope that Saint Charbel will perform here the miraculous cures he's performed in other countries. Rio de Janeiro, 16-10-1994.]
