Deutsch: Der Kern, aus dem die Sammlungen des Museums Europäischer Kulturen hervorgegangen sind, ist der Schrank Europa. Das war ein bei der Transformation der Königlichen Preußischen Kunstkammer in ein Museum 1856 eingerichteter Schrank, in dem sich ein paar Objekte aus irgendwie randständigen europäischen Völkern befanden. Die beiden kostbarsten Stücke waren zwei Schamanentrommeln aus dem hohen Norden, aus dem Land der Samen. Die Samen waren wohl das Exotischste, was man in Europa finden konnte. |
