Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ewan Butler is a guitarist/ multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Blackburn, a large industrial town located in Lancashire, England who is the founding (and current) member of the indie rock band Bradford, a band that world-renowned artist Morrissey had once said would make waves after The Smiths were finished. In a 2018 interview, singer/lyricist and bandmate, Ian Hodgson considered one of Ewan Butler's attributes as a guitarist with a tasteful awareness of not overplaying.

Butler, shown in this photo recording musical elements for "Stellafly" the concept album by Californian alternative hip hop artist, Ithaka (Ithaka Darin Pappas).

Along with longtime friend from Blackburn, producer Joe Fossard (who had relocated to Portugal a few years prior) the two co-wrote the musical elements backing most of the songs on the 17-track, 80-minute record.

The resulting record, based on Ithaka Darin Pappas' semi-autobiographical short-story lyricism, (musically backed by Fossard and Butler's compositions), was critically acclaimed in Portugal, being nominated for four Blitz Awards (The Portuguese Grammy) (including "Best Album" and "Best Single" for the song Seabra Is Mad - as well as being considered the national "Album Of The Year" by the country's number one national newspaper Público. A live tour of Portugal and two dates at the prestigious Printemps de Bourges in France followed, but soon afterward, Ithaka returned to the United Stated to begin recording a new record with Los Angeles producers, never returning full-time to Europe to record or perform. However, a decade later, the Drum and bass, surf guitar, story song Seabra Is Mad from the Stellafly album, with Butler on electric guitar (musically co-written by Ewan Butler and Joe Fossard) appeared in the best selling video game Xbox 360 game NBA 2K7.

In 2019, it was considered the #69 top "Rap Concept Album" in history by the online magazine Mouse Bear.
