Description
English: Eight Track Museum (Roxbury, NY) exhibits - Akai 1800SD with crossfield recording heads and 8-track player (controls for the latter in bottom front, loading slot in right side wall). The 1800 series was made in a variety of combinations, with or without amps, 8-tracks, stereo or quadro etc. Crossfield system required two separate recording heads placed on both sides of the tape - one for audio signal, one for biasing.
