| Description |
Français : L'explosion accidentelle d'Oppau (près de Ludwigshafen), enregistrée par la station sismologique de Strasbourg, à 110 km de distance, le 21 septembre 1921. Avec une charge totale d'environ 4500 tonnes de T.N.T., c'est l'une des premières explosions ayant permis la détermination de la vitesse des ondes sismiques P dans la croûte supérieure : entre 5,4 et 5,73 km/s selon les auteurs. Les trois enregistrements ont été obtenus sur des sismographes : vertical (en haut), horizontal est-ouest (au milieu) et horizontal nord-sud (en bas).
