Summary[edit]

Description A Douglas F4D-1 Skyray of fighter squadron VF-141 Iron Angels, Carrier Air Group Fourteen (CVG-14) lands on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61) in 1959. The Ranger was deployed to the Western Pacific from 3 Jan to 27 Jul 1959. A Douglas A3D-2 Skywarrior of heavy attack squadron VAH-6 Fleurs is visible in the foreground. Note the mobile landing mirror in front of the Skywarrior, positioned on the right side of the landing deck. Later a permanent landing mirror would be installed on the left edge of the flight deck.
