Nederlands: Opname vanaf de Koningin Elisabethlaan. We kijken in de richting van de Scheepsdalelaan. De huidige poort dateert grotendeels uit 1615. In de poort was een herberg gevestigd. Op de voorgrond ziet u de spoorwegbareel en een paal met bord waarop 'treinstilstand' geschreven staat. De rails zijn deze van de stoomtramlijn naar de Gasfabriek. Op de voorgrond lag de spoorlijn Brugge-Blankenberge. Deze werd verwijderd in 1910 en herplaatst van 1919-1920. Links ziet u het huis Scheepsdalelaan nr. 1. Rechts ziet u de achtergevels van de woningen in de Kardinaal Mercierstraat. Scheepsdale behoorde vroeger tot de gemeente Sint-Pieters-op-de-Dijk, maar werd in 1899 geannexeerd. Op 29 november 2006 deelt de heer Luc Verstraete ons het volgende mee : 'De stoomtramlijn naar de Gasfabriek liep verder door tot aan de Sint-Pieterskerk.' We danken de heer Verstraete voor zijn reactie. |
