Scales have a linear pattern on keyboard and staff - generally non-liner on guitar

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The guitar staff with an 8 written below the G or Treble clef and frequencies an octave lower than on the Grand Staff is still a much better match to the keyboard than the fret-board.

Here, each key, left to right including the black keys, matches up with the notation on the staff. It can get more complicated but that is not commonly encountered when the procedure is first learned.

The first five flats in the key signature match the black keys on the piano, everything marches along in Whole and Half-Tone intervals from left to right and its relatively easy to see and hear whats happening
