Description
Deutsch: Orte und Straßen auf den Färöern.
  • Erklärung:
    • Die beiden größten Städte Tórshavn und Klaksvík sind als Fläche dargestellt. Die anderen größeren Städte mit roten Punkten, und alle weiteren Orte, welche wenigstens eine Art Dorf sind, mit schwarzen Punkten, um zu dokumentieren, wo die Färöer besiedelt sind. Einige dieser Orte sind beschriftet, da es sich lohnt einzelne Artikel über sie zu verfassen.
    • Die Inseln mit nur einem Ort haben keinen Autoverkehr. Diese Orte heißen immer nach der jeweiligen Insel.
    • Die Inseln ohne verzeichneten schwarzen Punkt gelten als unbewohnt. Sie werden höchstens im Sommer zeitweise bewohnt.
    • Die Tunnel sind nicht gekennzeichnet.
    • Da wo der Betrachter unwillkürlich eine Brücke zwischen den Inseln vermutet, ist auch eine.
    • Die Fährlinien sich nicht verzeichnet. Von Tórshavn aus werden alle südlichen Inseln bedient, und auch die Gegend um Runavík (ein kleines Ballungsgebiet). Eine wichtige Fähre fährt von Leirvík nach Klaksvík.
    • Die Seefähre Norröna kommt auf ihrem Weg von Dänemark nach Tórshavn von der rechten unteren Bildecke. Auf dem Weg nach Island umfährt sie dann die Süd- und Ostküste von Eysturoy, um an Kalsoy vorbei in den offenen Atlantik zu steuern. Sie fährt in eine Richtung die der gedachten Linie zum 7. westlichen Längengrad und dem Bildrand nahe kommt.
    • Südlich von Suðuroy befinden sich auf der Karte kleine blaue Punkte. Das sind Klippen, die der Vollständigkeit halber erwähnt seien.
    • An einigen Punkten sind Höhenangaben, sie verzeichnen die höchsten Berge, diese Angaben sind nur eine Auswahl. Eine detailliertere Karte folgt bei Bedarf. Der Punkt im Norden von Viðoy bildet zur Küste hin das größte Kliff Europas. Manche sagen auch, das höchste oder zweithöchste der Welt.
