Description
English: Stock certificate of Farbwerke vorm. Meister Lucius & Brüning for 1000 Marks, issued on 27 November 1919 in Höchst am Main, signed by Walther vom Rath as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Geh. Regierungsrat Dr. Dr. Ing. h.c. Adolf Haeuser as Chairman of the Board. Founded in 1863 as Meister, Lucius & Co., renamed Meister Lucius & Brüning in 1867, since 1880 Farbwerke vorm. Meister Lucius & Brüning AG. 1925 merger with five other chemical companies to form IG-Farbenindustrie AG. 1945 Confiscation of I.G. Farbenindustrie AG and control by the Allies until 1953, 1951 demerger and spin-off as Farbwerke Hoechst AG formerly Meister Lucius & Brüning. Höchst AG since 1974. 1999 Merger with the French Rhone-Poulenc to form Avensis S.A. based in Strasbourg and spin-off of the remaining chemical activities into Celanese AG. In 2005, Höchst AG became a 100% subsidiary of Sanofi-Aventis, now Sanofi.
