World heritage plaque for Farol da Senhora da Luz

Summary

[edit]
Description
It was built in 1758 to solve the problem of entering the Douro river, which had long required the building of a lighthouse. The site chosen was Monte da Luz which has a view across he Douro bar to Espinho. Recently sets of rock carving were found on the outcrop.
