Summary[edit]

Description
English: An image of 2011MD as it passed close by the earth on 27 June 2011. This is a combination of three separate images, taken sequentially with different filters. The stars in the background are stationary, while the meteor is moving across the frame - causing the three coloured lines. The image was taken by Nick Howes using Faulkes Telescope North, owned and operated by Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network. Note that this image was released under a CC-BY-SA license with permission of LCOGT; Public images from Faulkes Telescope North are usually available under a CC-BY-SA-NC license.
