| Description |
English: Fidra - 'Castle Tarbet' A rocky arm projects towards the SE of the island and it terminates in this flat-topped columnar rock that rises 40ft above high water mark. On the summit there are no visible remains of buildings, though there are suggestions of foundations of a castle that was known here in 1220 and 1621 as the 'old castle' of Eldbottle (Fidra used to be known as Eldbottle). |
