Description
English: Flag of Batak composed of three main color which is red, white, and black with balanced composition. There are no persistent order of the color regarding the flag.

The flag is used by the Bataknese not to show an act of separatism, but as symbol or an indentity as Bataknese (Batak Toba: Bangso Batak).

The colors has its own philosophical value to the Bataknese, which is:

- Black symbolizes leadership (Batak Toba: hahomion) - Red symbolizes passion / strength (Batak Toba: hagogoon) - White symbolizing purity / righteousness (Batak Toba: habonaron)

The colors are mainly used as the basic color of the Batak art and culture, traditional house and Gorga Batak (Bataknese carving art).

The flag are hoisted in the areas inhabited by the Bataknese, especially sacred places to the Bataknese.
Bahasa Indonesia: Bendera Batak terdiri dari tiga warna yaitu merah, putih, dan hitam dengan komposisi yang seimbang; tidak ada urutan warna yang sesuai mengenai bendera Batak.

Bendera Batak digunakan oleh suku-suku Batak bukan sebagai wujud dari separatisme, melainkan simbol maupun identitas diri sebagai suku/bangsa Batak (Bangso Batak).

Ketiga warna memiliki nilai filosofis tersendiri bagi orang Batak, yakni: - Hitam melambangkan kepemimpinan (Batak Toba: hahomion) - Merah melambangkan semangat/kekuatan (Batak Toba: hagogoon) - Putih melambangkan kesucian/kebenaran (Batak Toba: habonaron)

Ketiga warna tersebut banyak digunakan orang Batak sebagai warna dasar seni dari seni maupun budaya, seperti contoh rumah adat maupun Gorga Batak (Seni ukiran Suku Batak).

Bendera Batak juga banyak dikibarkan di wilayah yang dihuni oleh orang Batak, terlebih tempat-tempat sakral/suci bagi suku Batak.
