Description

September 28, 2010.

Eleven veteran Major and Brigadier Generals who stood at the head of Regional Commands, Branches, Corps and IDF Units from the very establishment of the State of Israel, visited the Hatzor Air Force Base this day (Wednesday). The purpose of the visit was to acknowledge and extend gratitude on behalf of the IDF, to these founding commanders for their considerable contribution in the building and protection of the nation and its inhabitants, as well as to update them on the IDF today, on the threats and the challenges facing the force as well as its preparedness and readiness.

The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, took part in the visit and lauded the generals, saying: “We received the State from you to keep and defend, and I hope that you are confident you have handed your achievement to worthy successors. We continue your heritage.”
