Description

Joris in de cel, politici vrijuit...

Vrijdag [18 december 2009] is Greenpeacer Joris Thijssen tijdens de klimaattop in Kopenhagen gearresteerd. Naast Thijssen werden nog drie Greenpeace-actievoerders uit andere landen opgepakt. De aanleiding voor hun arrestatie was de actie [op 17 december 2009] waarbij de Greenpeacers bij een gala bij de Deense koningin uit een limousine stapten en in galakleding de rode loper opliepen. Zij ontrolden daarbij een spandoek met de tekst "Politicians talk. Leaders act!".

Voor deze ludieke actie hing de actievoerders een maandenlange celstraf boven het hoofd. [De actievoerders zaten 20 dagen vast. Uiteindelijk werden zij in augustus 2011 veroordeeld tot twee weken voorwaardelijke celstraf. Voor de overtollige dagen in voorarrest werd hen in augustus 2012 een schadevergoeding toegekend].
