AQABA, Jordan (April 26, 2012) Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) the Honorable Ray Mabus hands a coin to a Marine assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) Maritime Raid Force, after observing a bilateral visit, board, search and seizure exercise with members of the Jordanian Marine Forces. The Marines are deployed with amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), which was in Aqaba for a port visit. New Orleans and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th MEU are deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
