English: Footpath to Northeye Crossing the Hooe Level. The reeds to the left mark the course of Crooked Ditch engineered by monks from Battle Abbey during the medieval period when the land to the right, on which the footpath runs, was reclaimed from saltmarsh. The footpath connects Northeye with Cooden. |
