Summary[edit]

Description The former German Zerstörer 1936A class destroyer Z 39 is transferred to France, in late 1947. The destroyer taken over by the U.S. Navy as "DD-939" in August 1945 and later used for tests. France used Z 39 to keep other German units that had been given to France in service. Z 39 was cannibalised and finally scrapped in 1964.
