| Description |
English: Former Shippams Meat Paste Factory, East Street On the corner of East Street and East Walls is the now converted former factory of the well known brand of meat pastes. Shippams have been operating in Chichester since Charles Shippam opened a grocery in Westgate back in 1786 and the first factory opened in 1892. This building was opened in 1911 and covered all the area from East Street to East Row until finally closed in 2002. Consequently, the shell of the building has been kept but the insides are being converted into residences and shops. The conversion has been completed by East Street but is still ongoing further up East Walls. |
