Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Former railway bridge over Montgomery Canal. The bridge originally carried the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. The railway was built as a narrow gauge line opening in 1903 connecting Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool. The line closed to passengers in 1931 though freight traffic continued until 1956. The majority of the line has been preserved and the line now operates from a terminus at Raven Square. The missing section ran through the streets of Welshpool to the main line station. |
