Français : Le fort Rupert, dans la baie James, après sa prise par les Français en juillet 1686. « Fort de la rivière Rupert. Muni de 8 pièces de canon a été brûlé par les Français après l’avoir pris sur les Anglais, ne pouvant le garder, et les dits canons portés au Fort Saint-Louis ». Extrait de la Carte des costes de l'Amérique septentrionale et des terres nouvellement découvertes par Pierre Alemand dans les trois voyages qu'il a faits de Quebeck à la Baye d'Hudson ... présentée à Monseigneur le Marquis de Seignelay. Détail d'une carte publiée en 1687 pour illustrer la campagne menée en 1686 par les Français pour chasser les Anglais de leurs postes de traite des fourrures dans le sud de la baie d'Hudson (baie James). Carte dressée d'après les relevés et dessins du géographe de l'expédition, Pierre Allemand.

Equipped with 8 pieces of cannon, it was burned by the French after taking it on the English. Unable to keep it, the guns were brought to Fort St. Louis ».
