The President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, and the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier participated in a ceremony for laying a wreath at the Yizkor tent at Yad Vashem and visited the photo exhibition The "Flashes of Memory" photo exhibition at the museum's new collection building. Photo credit: Kobi Gideon / GPO. עברית: ביקור נשיא גרמניה בישראל. נשיא המדינה ראובן ריבלין, ונשיא גרמניה, פרנק-ואלטר שטיינמאייר השתתפו בטקס הנחת זר באוהל יזכור ב"יד ושם" וביקרו בתערוכת צילומים תערוכת הצילום "הבזקי זיכרון" במשכן האוספים החדש במוזיאון. יום חמישי, כ"א בתמוז תשפ"א, 1 ביולי 2021. קרדיט צילום: קובי גדעון / לע"מ. הנשיאים ביקרו בתערוכת הצילום "הבזקי זיכרון", ושמעו על מספר פריטים מתקופת השואה שישמרו ב"משכן האוספים ע"ש שאפל"- המוקם בימים אלו ביד ושם. בין המוצגים גם שני יומנים, יומנו של אלפרד ז'לוני שנכתב בגטו ורשה ויומנה של רבקה ליפשיץ, שנכתב באושוויץ. ז'ילוני שרד את השואה ויומנו ניזוק מאש וממים, אך נשמר ונמסר למוזיאון על ידי קרובי משפחתו. היומן של ליפשיץ, נערה יהודיה בת 14 מלודז' נמצא ליד הקרמטוריום בבירקנאו על ידי רופאה של הצבא האדום. ליפשיץ צעדה בצעדות המוות, הגיעה לברגן בלזן תשושה וחולה, ונפטרה כמה חודשים לאחר השיחרור בבית חולים של בעלות הברית. יומנים בודדים של יהודים מוורשה ואושוויץ שרדו את השואה, הם עברו שימור במעבדות "יד ושם" וישמרו במשכן האוספים החדש. את הנשיאים ליוו יו"ר "יד ושם" הרב מאיר לאו, והיו״ר הזמני להנהלת "יד ושם", רונן פלוט. מוקדם יותר היום פקדו הנשיאים את קברה של נחמה ריבלין ז״ל, רעיית הנשיא אשר הייתה חברה קרובה של בני הזוג שטיינמיאר. הנשיא הביא איתו אבנים מארמון הנשיאות בברלין כדי לכבד את המנהג היהודי של הנחת אבן על קבר בביקורו זה. |
