Description French Cable Station Museum, Cove Road & MA Route 28, Orleans, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA. American termination point for the "Le Direct" telegraph cable linking Orleans to France, which was installed in 1898 and almost 3200 miles long. This image is part of the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), created by the Library of Congress, and hence is in the public domain. Survey number: HAER MA-67.
