Summary[edit]

Description
English: A scene of three French naval vessels at anchor, flying French flags at their sterns, with small sailing, steam-powered and rowing craft in the foreground and background. A fortress is visible on the coastline on the far right of the image. The central image is a port side view of La Gloire, an ironclad ship with three masts. Another ironclad is visible in the background, with sails hoisted. On the right of the image is a stern view of a three-masted, square-rigged sailing ship, also flying the French flag. The name Daunawerth is visible across her stern and is hand-written below the image.
