On the letter there is written in German:
Mein Geliebtes! Es geht nicht anders!
Als Offizier des Generalstabes wird mir
keiner der Menschen glauben, die diese
Gn.Offiz. hassen!
Wenn ich zu Keitel soll - dann weiss ich
an wen ich übergeben werden soll! Sonst
wird man nicht so verständigt! Nein das
tue ich nicht! Umarme die Kinder segne
sie! Geliebt habe ich nur DIch! Ich sterbe
als der ich mein ganzes Leben war!
Getreu der Überlieferung. Wir sehen
uns wieder im Jenseits bei Gott. Dein
Alter! Ich danke Mami den Geschwistern
