Description The site of the Hudson's Bay Company trading post, Fort Nez Perce (later, Fort Walla Walla) on the Columbia River. The fort was located on a peninsula below the shrubs here (now flooded by the McNary Dam). The cliffs in the back are the Wallula Gap. The mouth of the Walla Walla River is to the left. Lewis & Clark also passed this way on their way to the Pacific. Near Wallula, Washington.
