Description
English: The funerary lion from Moschato. The type of the over lifesized lion seated on its hind legs is the customary monument for a polyandreion of the 4th century B.C. (for example the lion of Chaeroneia). It is similar to the lion from Peiraeus, now in Venice. Accession number: 2977. Archaeological Museum of Piraeus. Piraeus, Greece.
