Description

Fuscidea recensa (Stirton) Hertel, V. Wirth & Vězda, 1972

Photograph of tips of asci stained with lugol's solution (iodine solution) taken through a compound microscope, x1000.

The Fuscidea recensa was growing on rock along the trail up Black Mountain, just S of Tunk Lake, NE of Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine, USA (44o35' N,   68o06' W,   Elevation 200 meters); collected by E.C. Uebel, identified by Dr. Irwin Brodo (No. U-538, 11 Jul 2005).
