English: 1916 photograph of the American submarine G-2. Caption: "The U. S. Submarine “G-2” - Copyright E. Müller, Jr. - Which has on its recent final trial proved to be unsatisfactory. It is generally agreed that the submarine flotill of this country is inadequate in number, kind, and condition of the ships, and lacking in specially trained officers and men who are needed for this branch of the service." Astern of G-2 is the USS Fulton (AS-1) (ship, 1914)
