Summary[edit]

Description This 1909 porcelain boat license was issued by the Thames Conservancy to be used on boats using the Thames River. This porcelain made plate is about 4 X 4 1/2 inches in size and was recently salvaged from the Thames River after nearly a century under water. Original color seems to be white on dark brown. I believe the boat that had this plate actually belonged to the Thames Conservancy as private pleasure vessels, water taxi/ferry and barge plates were of different designs.
