Gardes de la cour d'honneur : mandarins, soldats, animaux Monté sur le trône du Vietnam en 1916, le roi Khai Dinh choisit la pente de la montagne Chau Chu (encore appelée Chau E), à 10 km de Huê, pour y bâtir son tombeau. Les travaux commencèrent le 4 septembre 1920 et se poursuivirent pendant 11 ans. Le roi étant mort en 1925, le tombeau a été terminé sous Bao Dai (1926-1945). Le tombeau est le résultat du mélange des architectures européennes et asiatiques, modernes et anciennes. Il est divisé, comme le veut la tradition, en 3 parties qui dans ce cas sont des terrasses reliées par des escaliers. La première terrasse est bordée de pavillons de garde. La deuxième terrasse comprend la cour d'honneur, des soldats, animaux et mandarins et le pavillon de la Stèle sur laquelle sont inscrits les réalisations et mérites du roi. La troisième terrasse est celle du tombeau et des salles commémoratives décorées de mosaïques, faïences et tessons de verre. |
