Description
English: Pumping Station De Lijnden, Haarlemmermeer, The Netherlands. The station was builded in 1849, the style is neogothic.
Nederlands: Gemaal De Lijnden, Vijfhuizen, Haarlemmermeer Gemaal De Lijnden dateert uit 1849 en is gebruikt bij de droogmaking van de Haarlemmermeer van 1849 tot 1852. Samen met Gemaal De Cruquius en Gemaal De Leeghwater was de klus in drie jaar geklaard. Gemaal De Lijnden is een aantal maal gemoderniseerd en tot 2005 in werking gebleven. Daarna is het in okt. 2005 vervangen door een nieuw gemaal dat naast het oude gebouw staat. Het oude gebouw blijft behouden, het is een monument en gebouwd in neogotische stijl.
