Utstillingstekst i Trondhjems 900 Aars Jubilæum: Katalog for Den Historiske Udstilling i Trondhjem 1897: 466-468. Krohg, Nicolai Fredrik, f. 1732 paa Nitteberg i Gjerdrum, d. 1801; Oberst, Generalveimester i Trondhjems og Bergens Stifter 1768-1801. Søn af Oberstløitn. v. Søndenfjeldske Dragonsregiment Christian Nielsen Krohg, f. 1693, d. 1752. G. 1768 med Anna Meincke, næstældste Dtr. af Hilmar Meincke (No. 420). Høit fortjent af Veivæsenets Udvikling, idet under hans Ledelse de første virkelige Veianlæg nordenfjelds blev udførte. Ofte udredede han til Anlægsomkostningerne af egen Kasse de nødvendige Forskud, hvilke det hyppig var vanskeligt for ham at faa refunderede, ligesom han anvendte ikke saa lidet af sine egne Midler til Veivæsenets Fremme. Veien over Stenbjerget er anlagt af ham. Var desuden fra 1771 til sin Død reisende Medlem af Overdirektionen for Røros Kobberværk. Var med at skaffe Trondhjem det første Vandværk, aabnet 1777. Kjøbte 1773 Munkvold, dengang ikke stort bedre end en Sæter, som han lod bebygge, og hvor han tog Bolig 1777; eiede ogsaa Kystad og andre Gaarde, som han alle opdyrkede og forbedrede.
