Summary[edit]

Description
English: Scaffolding on the area of the former Wertheim store at Leipziger Platz in Berlin, which was Europe's biggest one until it was destroyed in WW II. Orco Property Group acquired the lot and planned a new store. The scaffolding was supposed to indicate the size of the new building by Kleihues + Kleishues (width 105 m, height 38 m). The financial crisis forced Orco to sell the lot to High Gain House Investments GmbH (HGHI, CEO Harald G. Huth). Apparently HGHI wants to build a store with 36,000 sqm to be opened in 2012.
