São Paulo 14 de Julho de 1932

Meus patrícios,

Solicitado pelos meus conterraneos mineiros moradores neste estado, para subscrever uma mensagem que revindica a ordem constitucional do paiz, não me é dado, por molestia, sair do refúgio à que forçadamente me acolhi, mas posso ainda por estas palavras escriptas afirmar-lhes, não só o meu inteiro aplauso como tambem o apêlo de quem, tendo sempre visado a gloria da sua Patria dentro do progresso harmônico da humanidade, julga poder dirigir-se em geral a todos os seus patrícios, como um crente sincero em que os problemas de ordem, politica e economica que óra se debatem, sómente dentro da lei e n'um quadro de plena concordia poderão ser resolvidos, de forma a conduzir a nossa Pátria à superior finalidade dos seus magnos destinos. Viva o Brazil unido.
