Description
English: U.S. Navy Gilliam-class attack transports at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Oahu, Hawaii (USA), on 27 February 1946, as they are readied for Operation "Crossroads": USS Appling (APA-58) lies outboard (top) of sister ships USS Barrow (APA-61), USS Bride (APA-66) and USS Gasconade (APA-85). At left are: LST-219, LST-388 and LST-52. Among the destroyers at right is USS McCall (DD-400).
