Chinese name: 吉奥财运300 (jí'ào cáiyùn 300) Year of launch: 2006 There used to be a staggering amount of Chinese carmakers producing some pick-up or SUV based on the 1988 Isuzu TF/Faster/Rodeo, with brands including Great Wall, Foton, Huanghai (Shuguang), ZX Auto (Zhongxing), Tianqi Meiya, Wanfeng, Xinkai, JMC (Jiangling), BAW, Changfeng, Foday (Fudi), Dongfeng, FAW, Jinbei, Higer, Gonow, JAC (Jianghuai) and the likes. Gonow (Zhejiang Gonow Auto) was founded in 2003 in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. The company has mostly relied on pick-ups and SUVs based on (copy of) the Isuzu TF and Kia Sorento (Aoosed G3). Other products include the Aoosed G5/GX5/GX6-series SUV, the Xinglang (Nissan NV200 copy) and the only sedan Gonow ever produced: the Emei, which is a rebadged GAC Trumpchi GA3. In 2010 GAC took a controlling stake in Gonow (51%) and it seems the brand is no longer producing cars. |
