Summary[edit]

Description
English: Traditional gourd spoon with popular 'lakh sow' - millet porridge (lakh) with sweetened, fermented milk (sow), garnished with sweet raisins. (Senegal, Wolof language, names vary with languages.) This rounded spoon shape as shown, originally from small gourds split in half, now in metal or plastic remains popular to use with soup and other very liquid popular West African dishes. Scale, shown with a standard tablespoon.
