Shows a steep rough surfaced sand, clay, and vegetated dune face. There are horizontal ridges visible. The beach is very narrow. A calm Lake Superior is at the base.

Rising more than 300 feet above the lake, the Grand Sable Dunes are the highest formation in the park.
