The photo depicts historic marker/road sign in Easton, NY near the Greenwich, NY town borderline, placed on the highway edge just east of the original home and location of her father’s Flax Mill, neither of which remains today.

Anna Mary Robertson Moses (September 7, 1860 – December 13, 1961) was an American folk artist and primitivist painter, known by her nickname Grandma Moses; she has become a world famous artist with her renditions of rural country life.

Nothing remains of the house or flax mill run by her father.”

Anna Mary Robertson was born in Easton, New York on September 7, 1860. She was the third of ten children born to Margaret (Mary) Shanahan Robertson and Russell King Robertson. Her father ran a flax mill and was a farmer.
