| Description |
English: Grazing ponies in the Bishop of Winchester's Purlieu, New Forest. The Bishop of Winchester's Purlieu is a boggy area of heathland which has been subjected to various drainage projects to 'improve' the grazing for the commoners' stock. These ponies are grazing on an area that is boggy in the winter (hence the bog myrtle) but dries out in the summer. |
