Summary[edit]

Description

There are two millennium windows at Great Malvern Priory designed and made by Thomas Denny. They were inspired by Psalm 36, verses which describe aspects of the nature of God. Several techniques are used including acid etching on flashed glass, the use of silver nitrate to create a vibrant yellows and the detailed painting of the glass. This window contains a mountain similar to the Malvern Hills nearby, with a fallow deer looking towards a brook. The western window comprises of an abstract winglike form with figures beneath. The tracery also contains figures by Denny. Both the windows were installed in 2004. "Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your judgements are like the great deep; You save humans and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of Your house, and you give them drink from the river of Your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. O continue your steadfast love to those who know You, and Your salvation to the upright of heart!"

The tracery is filled with 15th century glass, this window includes figures of Sir Robert de Bracy and the coats of arms of the de Bracy family.
