Description
English:

The Great Northern Railway Company hired Anders B. Wilse during the completion of its railroad line to Seattle. He worked as a civil engineer, and he documented the various stages of construction with his camera. During the winter of 1892-1893, workers extended the line through Stevens Pass in the Cascade Mountains. Construction work continued even in heavy snow. This photo, taken during the winter of 1892-1893, shows several workmen standing on Bridges 16 and 17, west of the summit at Stevens Pass. It appears that the tracks have not yet been laid on these new trestles.
