Gedenktafel auf dem Freiburger Annaplatz mit der Inschrift: Unter nationalsozialistischer Terrorherrschaft wurden am 22. Oktober 1940 aus Baden, der Pfalz und dem Saarland, Bürgerinnen und Bürger jüdischen Glaubens und solche, die nach der menschenverachtenden Rassenideologie zu Juden erklärt wurden, deportiert. Von diesem Platz aus begann vor aller Augen die Verschleppung der betroffenen Frauen, Männer und Kinder aus der Wiehre in das südfranzösiche Konzentrationslager Gurs. Die meisten von ihnen erlagen dort den unmenschlichen Lagerbedingungen oder wurden später ermordet. |
