Statue of Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) statue in Namchi, South Sikkim; is the largest statue of the patron saint of Sikkim in the world. Picture taken out by me. Nichalp on 16 December 2004

The statue was being repainted at that time, thus giving it a garish colour visible here. It is otherwise painted in bright colours.

[Corregendum: This is not the largest Guru statue now. Presently, the largest Guru statue is installed at Lhuntshi in Bhutan (Kuensel-http://www.kuenselonline.com/gurus-statue-consecration-on-november-1/]
