Summary
[edit]DescriptionGypsy Cobs - geograph.org.uk - 1655467.jpg |
English: Gypsy Cobs The Gypsy Cob (aka Coloured Cob, Irish Cob, or "Tinker Horse") is believed to be descended from a variety of breeds such as Shires and Clydesdales, Friesians and Dales Ponies. Characteristic for these horses is that they are most commonly piebalds or skewbalds, and they have an abundance of hair on their lower legs, flowing down over the hooves. Gypsy cobs are fairly large horses with powerful movements, who in the past were bred by the Romany for pulling their 'caravans'. Up until the late 20th century they were not a recognised breed and not much is known about their bloodlines. |
