Summary[edit]

Description
English: The child Gyula Gömbös (middle; 1886–1936), later Prime Minister of Hungary, and his siblings in Sopron, 1899. Gömbös had two younger sisters and a brother:
  • Mária (1889–1949), died in the United States.
  • János (1893–1927), officer at k.u.k. 52th Infantry Regiment, participated in the First World War and was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1918. Just like his brother, he joined the counter-revolutionary Hungarian National Army in 1919 as a member of the Prónay Battalion. After the collapse of the Hungarian Soviet Republic, he left the army and became an administrative officer. After his marriage was broken, he committed suicide in January 1927.
  • Karolin (1897–1961), died in Budapest.
